Here’s the deal. Commander Comments is an homage to Aaron Forsythe’s Random Card of the Day – I click “random” on the Gatherer and talk about the potential uses in our beloved format. And today…

Today’s Card is Mountain again! What kind of RNG do I need to flip from Urza block Mountain to Shadows Over Innistrad mountain? Hitting random again. Vedalken Blademaster. Much better. Today’s card is Vedalken Blademaster. I love the Prowess mechanic. I love being rewarded for playing lots of little spells. Prowess doesn’t even need instants and sorceries, mana rocks and equipment work too. If you go deep with prowess, then Shu Yun, Silent Tempest is the best bet. The real strength of prowess in EDH is adding to active game play. Many turns with blue decks involve nothing. Prowess enables aggressive attacks because your opponent won’t know what tricks you may have. That unknown can easily lead to Vedalken Blademaster dealing four or six damage without you even needing to trigger prowess. This card has no comments on Gatherer. You should give it some love.
