FLASHBACK – Cards That Should Be Banned In EDH

Editor’s Note: This piece was originally published on August 6, 2014. Because we actually have a lot of interesting content on the site that has been out there forever, occasionally we’re going to unearth something like this that is germane to current EDH conversations. If any of you read Sheldon’s article on SCG (go google it), it may have gotten you thinking about the banned list. So here’s Mr. P delivering some serious truth with his usual, snarky brilliance.

Hey y’all!

Here’s a list of cards that should be banned in EDH:

Hey, that was fun!

Single Card Discussion – Why Possibility Storm is the Greatest EDH Card Ever

This past weekend, this happened:

I understand that this board state is damn-near impossible to figure out from the picture, so I’ll try to do it justice; the gist is that it centers around the greatest card ever printed – Possibility Storm.

Holiday Throwback #3 – On Useful Decklists

Today’s throwback is one I’m a huge fan of.  Commander is such a top-down format that it’s very easy to get lost in flavor and card choices and end up with a deck that is unbalanced, can’t support its own choices, or worse.  After all, there’s nothing more frustrating than pouring hours and hours into a new build, only to show up to EDH night and end up mana-screwed and unable to even get a foot in the game.

Sean looks under the hood here at actual numbers and shares his templating to ensure decks not only look good, but work perfectly as well.

Shared Triumph – Tribal Enablers

Things I Think During Flash Floods…

What a crazy past week. Literally everything has conspired to wreck my ability to publish, from work to family to Mother Nature herself.  The latter is responsible for two full nights – last night included – with no power, and at least two major roads in this area washing clean out. It’s damn-near biblical in these parts, if that’s your thing.

Anyway, there are a lot of things on my mind that I’ve been dying to talk about, and the power is back on, so I’ll do just that with no further ado…

Three Cards Deep: The Good, The Bad, and the EDH Ugly

Hate cards and hosers. They tend to have a pretty small place in EDH because tuning for a meta is less common, and you have to have answers that are viable in a range of games against a wider range of cards than in other formats. But I love ’em. Let’s talk hate!
